Wayne C. Galasek CBC (Chartered Benefit Consultant)
Wayne has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry, enjoying a wide variety of functions and positions. He spent his first 10 years as an agent in Peoria and Chicago, winning sales, persistency and quality awards. Specializing in health insurance, he helped develop a program for a national podiatry association involving high-deductible major medical coverage. That program is still operational and was a forerunner to today’s consumer driven plans. He was also one of the first agents in the country to sell Variable Life in the late 1970s.

In 1986 he started the American Insurance Schools (AIS), approved by the Illinois Department of Insurance to hold pre-licensing and continuing education courses for all lines of insurance. Clients include Met Life, Allstate, State Farm, Farmers Ins. Group, AIG, The Equitable, John Hancock, United Healthcare, AON, Combined Insurance, Marsh, GMAC, Humana and many others. American Insurance Schools is currently one of only several accepted providers offering classes to the public in Illinois and has developed proprietary training programs for companies and specialty sales courses for financing companies and lending institutions.

In the early 90’s Wayne branched out into consulting work, specializing in self-funded ERISA health plans and captive reinsurance programs. His team spearheaded the nation’s first group health captive for unrelated employers, utilizing an offshore captive and reinsurance arrangement. Wayne successfully brought the product to market with member companies in over 16 states.

American Insurance Schools has continued to expand and now is at the forefront of Health Benefit Reform and Consumer Driven/Directed Health Care education. He is a member of several organizations, including Consumers for Health Care Choices, a grass roots organization that represents the views of the health care consumer to policy makers and industry leadership, and has spent time in Washington lobbying on behalf of self-insured employers. Wayne continues his consulting work with individuals and small-mid sized companies in developing health plan strategies that bring to bear all the critical elements of our nation’s new health care concepts, and he is available for public speaking on a variety of CDHC issues. He was selected by the National Association of Alternative Benefit Consultants (NAABC) to teach their advanced insurance designation course for Chartered Benefit Consultants (CBC).

Being a lifetime resident of the Chicago area and avid history buff, Wayne is a Docent with the Chicago Architectural Foundation and gives public and private tours about Chicago’s rich historical skyscraper/architecture heritage. Additionally, he is a tour guide with Untouchable Tours, Chicago’s Prohibition/Gangster tour organization. Wayne graduated from Bradley University in 1975 with a BS in Business and Music (double major). Prior, in 1974 he earned an Associate Degree from Triton College in Restaurant/Hotel Mngt.
